Guaranteed

No case citation reaches you unless the cited judgment is in the retrieved record. An authority that cannot be verified against the retrieved text is stripped to doctrine in a memo or research note, or removed and replaced by a visible marker in a document. Every check is logged.

Every judgment and every statute section a memo cites is checked against the text in our record — the judgment itself, or the Act as in force on your date. A citation that fails is removed or marked, never presented as verified.

This holds on every surface — memo, research note, document and every revision of a document — on the server, before anything is returned. If retrieval itself fails, the guard fails closed: nothing is presented as grounded that the record could not be consulted for.

State Acts not yet loaded

A State Act we have not loaded (most states other than West Bengal and Maharashtra today) is marked “not in our library”, not “wrong”. It cannot be verified until that Act is in the library.

The proposition

The check verifies that a cited judgment exists and that the quoted text is in it. Whether it stands for the proposition is measured only by the independent second check, whose miss rate has not yet been measured on a public benchmark. Read the authority.

Authorities outside the record

A real judgment of another court will not be found, and not found in corpus is not fabricated. The verdict is either verified against SC + Calcutta HC, or outside corpus — unverifiable by us.

A liability with a clock

Every memo carries a line like “verified as of 24 September 2026 against the record to 4 August 2026”, and distinguishes what was existence-and-quote verified from what was proposition-checked. An authority can be overruled after the memo was written. Re-run before you rely on it again.

The live count of analyses verified, citations checked and authorities stripped; and, once run, the score on a public, independent benchmark of citation-hallucination detection. No accuracy percentage we have not measured that way.

Retrieval thresholds

A judgment enters the record for a question only if enough of its text matches closely enough. Below the threshold, the answer is that no authority was found.

The sanitiser

Any structured citation not in the retrieved bundle is downgraded to doctrine. Pinpoints the record cannot back are removed.

The prose guard

Sentences are scanned for case names and citation shapes that slipped past. On documents, a sentence resting on an unverifiable authority is removed and marked.

The independent check

A second pass re-reads every grounded proposition against the retrieved passages and returns a verdict you can see. The verdicts are logged.
